Physiological Sciences GIDP
Physiology faculty members are crucial contributors to education, research training and administration in the Physiological Sciences Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP). This collaborative program includes over 70 faculty members across 6 Colleges at the University of Arizona. This allows graduate students in the Master’s and PhD programs to address a broad spectrum of basic physiology and disease processes in areas such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, neuroscience, cancer, and asthma!
Neuroscience GIDP
Physiology faculty working in the area of neuroscience also participate in the Graduate Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP) in Neuroscience. Neuroscience oriented faculty from many University of Arizona Departments and Colleges offer students education and research training opportunities in areas ranging from molecular, cellular, systems, behavioral, cognitive, theoretical, and clinical neuroscience.
Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program
Many Physiology faculty also participate in the Biomedical Engineering Graduate program in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and have research collaborations with Biomedical Engineering Faculty. Interdisciplinary collaboration is a hallmark of research at the University of Arizona and the combination of engineering with physiology is a powerful one for exploring new areas.
