Why I love being a PSIO student at the University of Arizona: One of the biggest aspects I have loved about being a part of the PSIO department here at U of A has been the community and family I have built within the program. Coming in as a Business major my first semester freshman year, I did not have much clarity of where I wanted to go in life and what career field I felt passionate about. After switching to the PSIO major, I immediately fell in love with all this program offered me. Through PSIO, I have been connected with mentors, faculty, and countless opportunities that have helped me figure out where my passions truly lie and inspired me to pursue my dreams.
What I'm involved in outside of the classroom: I am currently the Director of Outreach and Engagement at Street Medicine Tucson, where we provide free healthcare to the homeless population of Tucson. I am also a volunteer in the Emergency Department at Banner where I triage patients, and at Harmony Hospice. I am a member of the Physiology Honors Academy, a PATH Mentor for the W.A. Franke Honors College, a Marketer for The A Center where I am revamping the current Pre-Health and Pre-Law websites, and the Philanthropy Chair for my fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. I am also conducting a research study with a physician in Jerusalem, Israel from an internship I completed this past summer in the Neurology Department at Hadassah Medical Center - Ein Kerem.
Future plans: Upon my graduation from the University of Arizona, I am looking forward to applying to medical school with hopes of becoming a physician to positively impact the lives of others
Ask me about: If you have any questions about getting involved in different opportunities here on campus, please reach out. I love to help others network and find unique opportunities that they will enjoy the same way the PSIO department was able to do for me!
