Visceral and Interoceptive Systems Physiology (VISP) Symposium

Explore the continuous conversation between the brain and body, where an exchange of interoceptive signals shape movement, emotion, and decision-making. Researchers will lead discussion on how organs such as the gut, spleen, and kidneys communicate with the brain, deepening our understanding of the interconnected brain-body system and its influence on human health and behavior.

Dr. Thatcher is an accomplished medicinal chemist and pharmacologist whose career is defined by pioneering work in drug discovery and translational research. His leadership in founding drug discovery centers and mentoring programs has significantly advanced therapeutic development, particularly in oncology and neurodegenerative diseases.
