Major & Minor

Declare the Major

To change your major to Physiology & Medical Sciences or to add it as a second degree program, you must have a 2.0 Cumulative GPA.

If you meet the above criteria, please complete the following:

1. Watch the Physiology & Medical Sciences major declaration video.
2. Complete the Change of Major form. *If you're not sure which emphasis area you want to declare, you can learn more about them before submitting your form.

Please allow 2-5 business days for your change of major request to be processed.

Please note: Advising appointments are only available to students declared as Physiology & Medical Sciences majors. Students who have not yet declared their major but want to talk with a Physiology Advisor are welcome to email an Academic Advisor with any questions.

Declare the Minor

To declare the Physiology & Medical Sciences minor program, please complete the following:  

1. Review the minor requirements.
2. Complete the Minor Declaration form.

Please allow 2-5 business days for your minor request to be processed. 

Please note:

• You cannot double-dip any PSIO courses to satisfy both major and minor requirements. If your major requires PSIO 201 & PSIO 202, please contact your Academic Advisor for guidance. 
• Some minor courses have additional pre-requisites that you will need to complete before you can take them. These pre-requisites include CHEM 151, CHEM 152 and MATH 122A + B or MATH 119A. 
• Study Abroad courses (even those from the PSIO & Medical Sciences Global Tracks) cannot be used towards the minor.
