My Journey with the Physiology and Medical Sciences Program

When I began my studies at the University of Arizona, I had a different academic plan, and did not initially intend to major in Physiology and Medical Sciences. During fall of my sophomore year, I decided to change my path and pursue my goal of becoming a physician. After researching majors, I discovered the Physiology and Medical Sciences program and, with guidance from my instructors and advisors, successfully transitioned into the major.

My first PSIO course, PSIO 201, strengthened my interest in the human body, science, and medicine. I have found the experience as a PSIO major incredibly rewarding, and always interesting. Throughout my journey, I have also developed meaningful friendships with peers who have supported and motivated me. The Physiology and Medical Sciences major has become an important part of my college experience and confirmed my desire to pursue a career in medicine!

Academic & Career Goals

Once I complete my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend medical school with the goal of becoming a physician. I am currently most interested in pursuing a career in neurology or pediatrics, but excited to see where this journey takes me.
