My Journey with the Physiology and Medical Sciences Program
After taking Physiology and Anatomy I my freshman year, I fell in love with the discipline and decided to become a Physiology major to dive deeper into these concepts. I was immediately supported by mentors, advisors, and faculty. So far, my favorite PSIO course at UofA is Physiology and Anatomy II. This course was fascinating and memorable because I discovered my true passion for understanding the function of the human body. I enjoy unlocking pieces of the puzzle that is physiology with every core major class and elective I take. I also love making connections between my physiology classes and courses outside of the major in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of science and medicine. Through late nights at the library studying with my physiology peers and celebrating after exams with a fun coffee, I have developed many meaningful friendships with people who support me and inspire me to work hard. I am so grateful for this major as it has defined my college experience and confirmed my career goals.
